Wal', Some as calls me Durango (used to be the Durango Kid but I got older than dirt so's they dropped the Kid part) an I s'pose it's 'cause I was borned up in that part of the country. I've been a miner, a cowboy, Shot gun guard, town Marshal, outlaw, and now I've gone straight an' I'm the blacksmith in this li'l town. I've drifted from here to there an been most ever'where west of the big river. Even went out thar to 'Frisco once't. I rode the stages up in Leadville, and Marshaled in Empire, Co. west of Denver. Drove cows From Santa Fe up to the mining towns around Silverton, and up to Lake City during the big rush. Some say I was in on the bank job in Coffeeville but that weren't me, 'cause I was up in Laramie 'bout that time running with the Wild Bunch. I was workin' in the mines up thar in Central City when I was a younker an set powder in the big Glory Hole. Was married to a bar girl once't but she runned of with a tinhorn and I ain't seen her since.
